in Buddhism, the lotus flower is the symbol of purity, faithfulness and spiritual awakening. Just like the flower, we too have the ability to lift ourselves from the dirt and mud of our surroundings, bloom out of the darkness and radiate into our world. Though the flower has its root in the mud, it grows upward in the direction of light, which represents a journey from the darkness with aspirations to rise above and move towards the light of knowledge and wisdom.
